Been was founded by Emily, a map-obsessed printmaker who can’t get enough of celebrating home—and all the places she’s “been.” Whether it’s your cozy New England hometown or the faraway spot where you had your best vacation ever, we believe every place holds a story. So, we started Been Printing to help you wear yours on your sleeve (literally).

Hi I’m Emily
Raised on the beautiful coast of Maine in a community filled with artists and creators, I have long been inspired by the landscape and artwork around me. I followed my interest in the arts to college where I studied printmaking and graphic design. I fell in love with wood block printing in my first semester of college and for the next 4 years created printed work that involved exploration of place and memory - ending in a thesis that involved maps of the places I love the most! After 5 years in the work force I decided to come back to my creative and crafty roots and am excited to strike off on my own to build this cheeky brand that brings together all the things I love.
While in college at Boston University I met Morgan and Shannon. These girls are my soulmates, my muses, my partners in crime, and are my brain trust for everything Been. Shan discovered the name and Mo the logo and so I am dedicating this adventure to them! If I am working on anything Been related these two are usually within arms reach and I’m so lucky to be able to create something with their creative genius and strong muscles to help me at every turn! If you ever see these two around ask about Jason Derulo - you won’t regret it.
